How do environmental toxins wreck havoc with your allergies, eczema and asthma? Toxins are all around us, every day in every situation. We all assume the heaviest exposure is in industrial cities or near heavy traffic areas. Surprisingly, your home environment is even higher in environmental toxins! Who knew?
Having recently graduated from Lara Adler's Talking Toxins course, this was a very surprising fact she revealed. How can this be?
As Lara explained, the toxic exposure comes from everyday products we use from household cleaners to personal products. For example, a quick look at laundry detergent and dryer sheets, we find parfumes which causes serious issues for those with sensitivities. Constant exposure to the chemicals used to manufacture the laundry detergent and dryer sheets fill the "sensitivity bucket", then add in household cleaners, personal care products and the toxic load will increase the chances of an asthma attack. Consider reducing your daily exposure to toxins, by looking up your products on the Environmental Working Group website. This website profiles many household products based on their toxin levels and offers alternative, lower toxic options. Happy shopping.
